I am in my mid-sixties and have had problems with sleep since I was 13. I fell asleep easily, but always woke up groggy and tired. At about age 33, I began experiencing extreme daytime fatigue and sleepiness…it got so bad it started to impact my driving. At age 60, menopause began to wreak havoc with my sleep. I struggled with sleep and my daytime sleepiness became a big problem again.

Using the Soltec Sleep System changed everything. I was able to see what my sleep patterns truly looked like and could see that I wasn’t getting enough deep sleep, which helped explain my constant fatigue. After a few weeks, I don’t have difficulty falling asleep and my deep sleep has improved dramatically. I still wake up from time to time but quickly fall back to sleep again. I’m now sleeping between 7-8 hours a night and waking up on my own without and alarm, feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day.

I’m in my early 40’s and became a mom in my late 30’s. Disturbed sleep became a big part of my life. Struggling to fall asleep, then being woken repeatedly, really took a toll. As my daughter grew up and slept mostly through the nights, there would still be the regular middle of the night visits with her looking for cuddles, getting back to sleep, but I would remain awake the rest of the night. It decreased my ability to function well through the day.

After losing two very important people in my life, I became anxious and could not sleep. Simple decisions were impossible to make. It was difficult to be around people. I had to really work up the motivation just to get up, brush my teeth, and remember to eat and drink. There were nights when I did not sleep at all, but mostly I would fall asleep on the couch, in front of the tv, and would wake up by 1am or 2am and would be awake the rest of the night. Even though the melatonin helped me get some sleep, my mind was still unable to process.

If they do wake me up I can usually get back to sleep. I decided to stop taking melatonin as I now trusted the system would get me to sleep. I am 43 years old and from as far back as I can remember, sleeping has been a major problem for me. Since I was young, I had severe difficulty falling asleep, a process that regularly took 2 to 3 hours. This problem persisted…a typical night’s sleep would last 4 to 5 hours, and 3 to 4 nights a week would likely be spent on the sofa, falling asleep to the television. I had to take afternoon naps quite frequently in the past.

I’ve now been using the Sleep Management System for several months and my sleep has changed dramatically. Finally, falling asleep is no longer an issue, I simply close my eyes and I’m asleep. What would typically take 30 to 60 minutes easy, now only takes 5 to 10 minutes. An average night’s sleep lasts 7 ½ to 8 ½ hours on average with lots of deep sleep, versus 4 to 5, quite remarkable for me. This has also changed my sleep habits for the better, as I’m now more inclined to go to bed when starting to feel tired, almost excited to get another good night of sleep.

Sleep was easy for me, from childhood through my forties. I couldn’t understand how people had sleep issues. But somewhere in my mid-fifties sleep became challenging and got even worse in my sixties. Falling asleep wasn’t much of a problem, but I gradually lost the ability to sleep through the night. I’d get a few hours of decent sleep, but once it was 4 AM or so, I’d begin waking up every half hour, tossing and turning until my 6:45 AM alarm.

I wouldn’t feel particularly refreshed when I did get up. Caffeine helped get me through the day. For the majority of my life, I’ve considered myself lucky with how well I’ve slept. In my 20’s I spent day and night in front of a computer designing software. Throughout the grind of software startups and never-ending deadlines, I somehow always managed to survive with just a little bit of sleep. As I moved into my 30’s something changed. My sleep wasn’t like what it was. I never took it seriously enough and figured it was simply a case of “getting older” or typical stressors of life getting more and more complicated.

Sleep was a very difficult thing for me in my adult life. I slept like a baby until I entered the workforce. I could gauge my stress level based on the time I awakened at night – high stress, 2AM; medium stress, 4 AM; and low stress, 6AM. This after going to bed at 10PM. After many years of this, when I turned 60 I had all the stress-related problems. Weight gain, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, Type 2 diabetes.

I got the Z•TRACK wearable first, to measure and analyze my sleep and I generated my baseline data. This data clearly showed evenings when I had poor sleep due to a stressful day or drinking a cocktail in the evening. I also wear an oral appliance to address obstructive sleep apnea and when I forget to use it or if I don’t have it adjusted properly I can see the results on the Oxygen Saturation score. 

Using just Z•TRACK taught me a lot about my sleep. Most notable was my deep sleep. I actually had pretty good deep sleep for someone my age averaging about 30-40 minutes per night. My REM sleep was poor, and I had little to no memories of my dreams. I was constantly tired during the day, and I would fall asleep in the afternoon. I was constantly forgetting appointments and where I left important items such as my iPhone.

I saw results pretty quickly with Z•GEN. Within a couple weeks I was achieving some nights of 90-100% deep sleep; unheard of for someone my age. My REM sleep was in the 90-100% range and I remembered having very vivid dreams. I was no longer falling asleep during the day. I also noticed that having a drink in the evening would depress my deep sleep to the 60% level, but it wasn’t wiped out. My results have been so positive that I will never give up my Z•GEN.

From young childhood, I was always considered the best sleeper in my family. I’d typically sleep for 10+ hours a night. My family tells a funny story about the time I slept through a neighbor’s house across the street burning down…I was a deep sleeper! This pattern hadn’t changed much throughout life; even when exercise, meditation and dietary practices changed frequently. Due to what some called excess sleep, I was seldom tired or needed a nap though I really had to drag myself out of bed every morning.

Things remained like this until I used the Sleep Management System. The first thing I noticed was that my sleep quickly started reducing from 10 or so hours down to around 8. This irritated me, as I very much enjoy my sleep time. But the benefit was quickly apparent when I started waking up refreshed after 8 hours. There was no longer any desire to immediately go back to bed. This system added a full two hours onto my day. It was kind of shocking to realize that even though I was a great sleeper, the sleep I was getting must not have been that great.

I have now been without the sleep system for almost two months. My sleep has changed back to around 9 hours a night, though I do get a little tired now, typically between 4 and 6pm. Z•TRACK has taught me a lot about my sleep, and sleep quality, for months. It’s very exciting to see a piece of technology actually change my physical sleep habits for the better.
